CHRISTMAS TREE BROWNIE TREATS
Now that winter winds are blowing, and the snow is snowing, it’s time to get the kids involved with making some holiday treats. These brownie Christmas trees are a quick and easy way for your little kitchen helpers to join in the fun. Make a batch for home, or wrap them up to give away to friends and co-workers.
Ingredients:
*1 package of brownie mix
*1 box of candy canes
*2 tubes of vanilla cookie icing
*1 box of Christmas sprinkles
Instructions:
– Grease a 9″ round cake pan and pre-heat your oven (see box directions for setting)
– Cut a piece of wax or parchment paper to fit the bottom of the pan
– In a large mixing bowl, prepare brownie mix as written on the box
– Pour into the 9″ baking pan and bake as instructed
– After the brownies cool, turn them onto a plate and using a sharp knife, cut the brownies as if you were cutting pie pieces (you don’t want them square)
– Break off the hook part of the candy cane and insert the straight stick into the bottom of the brownie
– Open the tubes of cookie icing and decorate the tree as seen in the picture. Immediately add your sprinkles and press them “gently” into the icing.
– Allow the icing to firm up, arrange the trees on a festive plate, and you are good to go!
